Cross-Stitch Completion Service
Christchurch, NZ
Clotho by Theophora is a cross-stitch completion service — turning unfinished projects into completed heirlooms. We continue existing work in keeping with its original materials, pattern and intent, so each piece is ready for framing or long-term keeping.
Clotho (Κλωθώ) is one of the three Moirai — the Fates of Greek myth. Her name means "the Spinner." At the birth of every mortal, it was Clotho who spun the thread of their life onto her spindle, beginning the story; her sister Lachesis measured its length, and Atropos, in time, cut it. Of the three, Clotho is the one who begins — the thread-maker, present at the very start.
We took her name for a service that lives on the other side of that thread. Where Clotho spins a beginning, we take up threads already begun — the cross-stitch someone started and set aside, the piece a hand can no longer finish — and carry them faithfully onward, matched to the original maker's materials and intent.
That is the spirit we have named ourselves for: not to replace the first hand, but to honour it — taking up a thread already begun and stitching it through to a finished heirloom.

Clotho finishes what was started — but it's one door among many in the Theophora family. Here's where else to find us.
Family handwritten cookbooks, digitised into clear, shareable pages — so the recipes are easy to cook from, and the original book can be retired from kitchen duty before another butter stain finds it.
Named for the god of the forge and craftsmen, Hephaestus is Theophora's workshop — and it's almost ready. We're finalising the details now. Watch this space.
An evolving project by Psyche by Theophora, turning a suburban yard into a habitat for butterflies, pollinators, and healthy soil systems - with a carefully designed rabbit habitat at its centre.
We specialise in unfinished cross-stitch heirlooms, honouring the original stitcher.
Work is completed with care in a smoke-free, vape-free and pet-free studio.
One piece at a time — focus and attention guaranteed.
Pricing based on volume of work, not hours.
We finish what someone else began, without overwriting them. Every piece is matched to its original threads, worked one at a time, and returned to you complete. The value isn't only a finished picture — it's the continuation of a hand, a memory, or a person, carried on rather than left unfinished.
